WHO the heck AM I? 

For starters, I am the oldest of 6 children from South Ozone Park, Queens NY who cared for her paternal Grandmother with Parkinson's Disease while going through nursing school and working as a student nurse intern.

I am a registered nurse who graduated with her Associates degree from CUNY Queensborough in 1991 and was hired straight into the ICU, because the nurse mentors I met while in school TRUSTED my skills and judgement. (Yes, I have my BSN now and earned it with a 3.96 GPA).

I am a nurse who worked in the burn unit in the aftermath of September 11th..., has never made a medication error, ... I mean it, (in 35 years).

I had a serious NY nursing school upbringing that made me AFRAID to mess up, and a CARE for human life that created empathetic, conscientious caregiving.

I have extended that care to nursing students as an instructor and clinical educator. I solve problems for patients, and can solve them for lawyers.

I am also an open heart surgery (CVICU) and Operating Room nurse, by history, have worked in nursing homes, home care, primary care, acute care, and even correctional facilities. I have cared for the intellectually and developmentally disabled, so can opine on all of those related matters.

I lived and worked in Manhattan, and then traveled to several other states for the past 22 years. I just got back and I am ready to assist my native home town community.

Who else am I, (besides a nurse for over 3 decades)? I am a horse fanatic, a Pisces (if that amuses or matters to you), I love being outside, meal planning and nutrition, exercise, and time with people I love.

My causes are patient advocacy, (especially informed consent, risk analysis for medical malpractice), a passionate fighter against online child exploitation, (just ask the FBI whom I used to call to give reports), a fighter against human/child trafficking through porous borders, a family member, and friend.

 I do not take life for granted, as I have been through my own challenges. Right now I am working on project that will result in no income for myself but will help me stand out in a SEA of LNCs here in New York. Follow me to learn more.
